A total of 938 emergencies have been attended nationwide during the Easter holiday, amid a sustained increase in incidents that have response agencies on high alert.

Colonel Jean Daley Rose, commander of the Herrera regional zone, detailed that 41% of the cases correspond to structural fires, while 33% are linked to vegetation fires, reflecting growing pressure on operational capabilities.

To address the situation, the Honorable Fire Corps maintains 11 operational zones active across the country, including hard-to-reach areas and island sectors.

More than 850 units are deployed daily, attending various risk scenarios.

Official figures also reveal a 5% increase in the incidence of emergencies compared to the same period last year, a trend that authorities attribute mainly to rising temperatures and drier weather conditions.

In this context, firefighters reiterated the call for citizen prevention, especially to avoid uncontrolled burns and adopt basic measures such as constant hydration.

The statements were offered from the Emergency Operations Center (COE) in the province of Herrera.
