Panama Oil Terminals S.A. (POTSA) expressed its regret over the incident, noting that the tragedy has affected not only the victims but also their families and residents in the area, whose daily lives have been disrupted. According to official information, the incident took place at facilities operated by Environmental Solutions Development Inc., with which POTSA has a sublease agreement for tanks and operational areas under a concession granted by the Maritime Authority of Panama. Following the accident, the company stated that it immediately activated its emergency response protocols in coordination with the relevant authorities, including rescue services and the entities in charge of the investigations. POTSA also assured that it has made all necessary information and resources available to clarify the causes and circumstances of the event, while maintaining direct contact with the affected families to provide support. In its statement, the company reiterated that safety is a fundamental pillar of its operations, and that this incident obliges it to reinforce measures to prevent similar situations from recurring. Finally, the company stated that it will continue to cooperate with the authorities and is committed to keeping the public informed about any relevant developments in the investigations.
