To strengthen the emotional well-being of the educational community at the Anastacia Mitre school, located in the Palmas Bellas corregimiento in the Costa Abajo area of Colón province, the first psychopedagogical office was inaugurated. It consists of a psychologist and a social worker who will provide guidance and support to students, parents, teaching, and administrative staff. Verushka Ordás, national director of Psychoeducational Services at MEDUCA, stated that the office is an opportunity to provide socio-emotional accompaniment, develop preventive programs, and offer timely individual attention in all matters within its scope as a psychopedagogical office. This work will be carried out in conjunction with other school units, such as special education and the guidance department. Ordás explained that with the implementation of 33 new psychopedagogical offices, the Ministry of Education will impact over 34,000 students in 54 educational centers, reaching the Gunayala Ngäbe-Buglé comarcas (Kodri and Nedrini) for the first time. This will bring the total number of offices nationwide to 212, benefiting over 314,000 students. Meanwhile, social worker Victoria Chirú mentioned that it is a challenge and a pleasure to be able to provide this accompaniment to students. "It is teamwork, where we are all part of it and we want to give our best in this school."
