Police seizes 200 kilos of cocaine in Bugaba

The National Police of Panama seized 200 kilos of cocaine in Bugaba. The operation, carried out in the Santa Marta area, led to the arrest of the truck driver involved.


The National Police of Panama has achieved a significant drug seizure by confiscating 200 kilos of cocaine hidden in a dump truck in the Santa Marta sector, Bugaba, Chiriquí province. During "Operation Panama 3.0", agents discovered the packages camouflaged among boxes in the truck, representing a significant blow to drug trafficking in the region.

Major Lionel Sánchez reported on the operation and highlighted the importance of citizen collaboration in the fight against this type of crime. After receiving an alert about the possible transportation of illicit substances, the operation was carried out, leading to the discovery of the cocaine.

In addition to the seizure, the driver of the vehicle was apprehended and is now in the custody of the authorities for the corresponding investigations. This successful operation is a result of joint work between the police forces and the information provided by the community, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in security and the fight against drug trafficking.
