The National Police, through the National Anti-Drug Directorate (DNAD), carried out a raid at a port on the Pacific on a containerized shipment where 30 packages of suspected drugs were found. The illicit substance was hidden in a container that, according to investigations, originated from Germany with a transshipment in Panama and had Australia as its final destination.
The relevant authorities continue investigations to determine those responsible involved in this case. No further details about the type of seized drug or its estimated value in the illicit market have been disclosed.
In relation to this significant finding, the director of the DNAD expressed his commitment to the fight against drug trafficking and highlighted the work of the National Police in protecting borders to prevent the passage of prohibited substances to other countries.
"These types of operations are fundamental to dismantling drug trafficking networks that attempt to use our country as a route for their illicit shipments," stated the director of the DNAD. For the moment, surveillance at ports and borders remains in place to prevent future attempts at large-scale drug smuggling.
