This week, more than 400 construction workers were arrested by the National Police in relation to the violent disturbances that occurred on Avenida Balboa. During these confrontations, approximately 9 units of the National Police and several workers were injured. In fact, one of the officers was struck by a block, leaving him hospitalized.
The confrontation between the police and the workers took place in a context of protests and tensions in the construction area. Authorities have initiated an investigation to clarify the events and determine the corresponding responsibilities.
One of the representatives of the workers expressed his concern about the situation, mentioning that they are fighting for their labor rights and that they will continue to protest peacefully to achieve a dialogue with the authorities.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Public Security has issued a statement condemning the violence in the protests and ensuring that necessary measures will be taken to maintain order and security in the region.
