Another Path Movement Rejects Comptroller's Statements

The 'Another Path' movement rejected the statements of the Comptroller General of the Republic, who publicly claimed that this political group has not rendered its accounts.

From the sidewalk of transparency — and not from the political noise — 'Another Path' made it clear that it has indeed rendered accounts, that it has done so in accordance with the Constitution, the Electoral Code, and all current regulations, and to question this is not only false but also politically irresponsible.

In an official statement, the movement reminded that the accountability report was already presented to the Electoral Tribunal, as required by law, and that the direct audit by the Comptroller's Office of political parties is a new power, granted after that first period had already been accounted for, so it cannot be used as an argument to sow suspicion.

Also raising her voice was Deputy Alexandra Brenes, a member of the 'Let's Go' coalition, who clarified that her accountability report was indeed delivered, flatly contradicting the comptroller's statement.

«It is incorrect to state that I have not delivered my accountability report. Said report was presented after complying with the requirements before the Electoral Tribunal, as established by the applicable norms for the post-electoral subsidy, which I have fully met,» Brenes stated.

The deputy also explained that the request for an extension is expressly permitted by law, specifically by Law 32 of 1980 and Comptroller General Resolution 27-01 of 2025, and that this extension was even recommended by trained personnel from the Comptroller's Office itself during an orientation provided on December 25.

Brenes did not stop there. The rest, they say, is not oversight but political noise that ultimately affects citizen confidence.

With a direct message, but without stridency, she described it as lamentable — though predictable — that when there are substantial national questions, attempts are made to divert attention with incorrect accusations that do not hold up in law or in fact. 'Another Path' said that the accounts are rendered, the papers are presented, and the rules have been followed.
