The National Police of Panama reported that in the last 24 hours, 1,073 tickets were issued to drivers for violating the Traffic Regulations, as part of security operations deployed nationwide.
Of the total infractions, 117 tickets were for speeding, 109 for improper use of lights, 13 for proven drunkenness, and 85 vehicles were removed by tow truck for various violations.
Within the framework of these actions, the National Police also reported the apprehension of 197 people, in addition to carrying out 58 search warrants at different points in the country. During the operations, B/.35,860.00 in cash was seized, as well as 26 packages with presumed drugs, three firearms, and 44 ammunition, reinforcing the fight against crime and drug trafficking.
The institution reiterated that these operations are part of its permanent strategy to guarantee public order, reduce traffic accidents, and combat crimes, while urging citizens to respect traffic norms and collaborate with the authorities.
