On Tuesday, Panama's Foreign Minister, Javier Martínez-Acha, will begin a tour of Persian Gulf countries with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and promoting cooperation in strategic areas.
"With this mission, Panama reaffirms its commitment to an active foreign policy aimed at positioning itself as a bridge between Arab countries and Latin America," added the letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A statement from the Chancellery specified this Monday that in Dubai, a city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Martínez-Acha will participate in the Governments Summit 2026, which runs until next Friday.
That event "brings together leaders, experts and decision-makers from around the world to boost international cooperation, identify solutions to the main global challenges, and develop tools, policies and models for the governance of the future," said the Chancellery.
As the final stop of the official mission, in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a country where Panama recently opened its embassy as part of strengthening its diplomatic presence in the Middle East, stated the official letter without specifying dates.
Within the framework of that event and as pro tempore president of the Council of Ministers of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the Panamanian foreign minister will participate in a special edition of the Tenth International Cooperation Conference titled 'More than 30 years of cooperation in the Greater Caribbean', which is focused on highlighting the advances and projections of regional cooperation.
During a visit to Doha, the capital of Qatar, Martínez-Acha will hold meetings with local authorities and develop an agenda focused on attracting investment and cultural and educational issues.
