The head of SENNIAF, Beatriz Carles, and the director of UNICEF Panama, Sandie Blanchet, visited the Comprehensive Care Center in Tocumen. The visit was prompted by complaints about alleged irregularities at the facility. They inspected the premises, spoke with staff, and promised to take urgent measures to protect minors.

The director of UNICEF Panama, Sandie Blanchet, visited the Comprehensive Care Center (CAI) in Tocumen. She was accompanied by UNICEF Panama representatives to see the situation firsthand. During the visit, they inspected the areas where young people are housed, spoke with staff, and reviewed care and protection protocols. The visit came amid complaints about alleged irregularities in the center's operation. Beatriz Carles was clear: they will not look the other way. She stated that the government is already taking action and will not minimize any alerts that put minors at risk. UNICEF Panama also emphasized the importance of reinforcing standards and ensuring safe spaces for children and adolescents. She said that any shortcomings must be corrected quickly.
