The Ministry of Education (Meduca) informs the public that to date (March 13, 2026), 795 teachers have resigned due to retirement, which is part of the regular process of concluding service in the public education system. The institution communicated through a press release that, given this situation, the corresponding process for the appointment of new educators has been initiated through the Online Vacancy Processes (PROVEL) system. With this decision, it is sought to guarantee the continuity of the educational service in the country's schools. «Meduca makes all the necessary efforts to ensure that each student has their teacher from the first day of classes, through the contests for the appointment of teachers and professors. However, it is important to note that during the school year, resignation processes due to retirement and other eventualities occur that generate vacancies, which are attended by the entity,» expressed Meduca. In this sense, it requested the understanding of the educational community while the corresponding procedures are carried out to ensure the continuity of the teaching and learning process.
