Two individuals have been provisionally detained in a case linked to a homicide that occurred on April 1st in the coastal community of Playa Chiquita, in the Santa Isabel district of Costa Arriba de Colón. On that date, José Rodríguez, a 29-year-old man known as “Calvo”, was murdered during an attack that took place on the night of April 1st on one of the internal streets of this coastal town. Both now face the crime of homicide in a case being advanced by the Homicide and Femicide Section of Colón and Guna Yala. The second hearing was for an attempted murder in the community of Palmira, also in Costa Arriba de Colón, where a 25-year-old person was wounded and taken to a hospital on the outskirts of the city of Colón for treatment. In this second case, during an initial hearing, provisional detention was applied to a man linked to the crime of attempted homicide in a violent incident that also occurred on April 1st in the coastal community of Palmira, where this young man was shot twice, once in the waist and once in the left arm.
