The Social Security Fund (CSS) reported that, following an internal investigation, it detected the participation of several public officials in irregular practices within the institution's payroll system. According to the report, those implicated simulated child support payments to generate direct discounts from their salaries, which were used to make payments to a furniture store. This mechanism had served as a fraudulent facade to pay personal debts by improperly using the institution's payroll. The entity explained that this conduct is a serious offense and a clear violation of the law, as well as the principles of transparency that govern the institution. In view of these facts, the CSS adopted disciplinary measures against those involved and filed the corresponding criminal complaints with the competent authorities, so that responsibilities can be determined. Finally, it made a call to all its public servants to act with honesty and strict adherence to the law. The institution reiterated its commitment to the proper use of public resources and warned that it will not tolerate this type of action.
