Former First Lady Responds to President's Criticism

The former first lady of the Republic, Yazmín Colón de Cortizo, responded to the statements of President José Raúl Mulino regarding the state of the presidential kitchen. Colón pointed out that during the Cortizo administration, the kitchen remained functional and equipped with everything necessary to operate. New extractors were even purchased, according to her words.

"During the Cortizo administration, the kitchen was kept fully ready with all the necessary requirements to operate, new extractors were purchased, I think that's what it's called... we didn't even use it. There is a serious expense to maintain that kitchen and it remains closed off, nobody uses it."

Colón also highlighted that, despite having the kitchen equipped, during her time as first lady, the space was not used frequently, which generated unnecessary expenses for its upkeep. According to her, the presidential kitchen was in optimal condition but was not regularly used, which implied a considerable cost for its maintenance.
