More than 400 registered for debate on reforms in Panama

A large participation is expected in the debate on the Social Security reforms. Congresswoman Yutzaida Marín highlights the importance of the consultation, as it involves all sectors of the country.

Deputy Yutzaida Marín expressed that, although she is not part of the Labor Commission, she believes it is everyone's duty to contribute their knowledge in discussions about the reforms to the Social Security Law. Additionally, she expressed her concern about the increase in the retirement age. On another point, Deputy Miguel Campos, a member of the Health Commission, indicated that the participation of more than 400 people is expected in the first debate.

The Labor and Health Commission is constantly following up and evaluating to begin consultations on the reforms to Social Security and the Invalidity, Old Age, and Death program. This process, which will start on Thursday, involves various sectors of the country. So far, about 316 people have registered to participate in the debate that will take place in the auditorium of the National Assembly.

The current concern focuses on time management and logistical organization to handle the large number of participants expected. Deputy Marín reported that comparisons have been delivered and the new project is being studied to clarify the stance of the RM Caucus.
