Interpol arrested a U.S. citizen at Tocumen International Airport. The person had arrived from Nicaragua and was heading to Argentina. It was found that they had 11 charges of sexual offenses against them.
According to authorities, the individual was detained thanks to a red notice issued by Interpol. Upon reviewing their documentation, it was discovered that they were involved in several sexual offenses, leading to their immediate arrest.
The suspect is now in the custody of Panamanian authorities while investigations are conducted. For the moment, it is expected that legal measures will be taken to determine their possible extradition to the United States to face the charges against them.
One of the authorities involved in the case stated: "International cooperation is essential in cases like these to prevent alleged criminals from moving freely between countries."
