Christiansen on El Salvador match: We must be wise and score first

Panama's head coach Thomas Christiansen shared his expectations for the upcoming match against El Salvador. He noted that the opponent, who lost the previous game, will be especially dangerous, and urged his team to act with a "cool head and warm feet".

Christiansen explained that El Salvador, coming off a 4-0 loss, arrives with its "pride" hurt, which makes it "more dangerous" in his eyes. The coach of the Panamanian squad also did not hide the "butterflies in his stomach" ahead of the match against the Salvadorans, as qualifying for a World Cup on home soil is "something beautiful". The Panama coach, Thomas Christiansen, was clear and direct, asking for "wisdom" when facing El Salvador this Tuesday at the Rommel Fernández stadium, to keep a "cool head and warm feet". He acknowledged that El Salvador is not coming to "give anything away" and trusts that the Guatemalan players will be "professionals" when facing Surinam at El Trébol stadium in Guatemalan lands. In the coach's opinion, he does not believe that "Bolillo" Gómez will change much from the matches he has played before, "he will continue to play in the same way," he retorted. The coach asked for the fans' support from the first minute and stated that he cannot play a "reckless game", so they plan to play with "wisdom" and reiterated that "we have to win, score the first goal".
