The president of the Panamanian Football Federation (FPF), Manuel Arias, confirmed that the players and coaching staff of the Panama Senior National Team will receive their 'Chen Chen' bonus for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday night.
"Economically, FIFA gives a significant sum for qualifying for the World Cup. This is distributed among the players, the coaching staff, and other expenses the federation has had," explained Arias.
The Panamanian football leader added that the application of the Law of Fiscal Incentives will be important, as it will greatly help develop football in terms of infrastructure and other projects.
The federation's leader also detailed significant investments in development centers. "What we are doing in Chepo costs one and a half million, and the one in Penonomé with bedrooms and all that costs one and a half million," he detailed.
"These are important figures, but well, we have many sponsors who have been helping us in all these projects," Arias said.
He explained that the federation is making a significant investment effort in development centers, such as the one in Chepo, the High Performance Center in Burunga, and a new natural grass field at the Virgilio Tejeira Football Complex in Penonomé. "Of course, the high-performance center alone costs 21 million dollars. We consider that about 10 million of that is the prize for what you just mentioned."
