In February, the second window of the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers for Panama will take place. Panama is in Group D of the Basketball World Cup Qualifiers alongside Argentina, Uruguay, and Cuba. In the first window, Panama could not secure a victory, losing both of its matches to Uruguay. Last Thursday, November 27th, the national team lost by a score of 93-60, and then again on Sunday night, but by a narrow margin of 84-82. A total of 16 countries from the American continent will continue their journey to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, which will be held in Qatar. The competition process will extend until February 2027, and only seven of these nations will secure their place in the world championship. The top three teams from each group will advance to the next phase, making the matches against Cuba crucial for achieving the goal.
