The Professional Baseball League of Panama (Probeis) has not officially announced whether it will participate in the Caribbean Series, which has changed its venue to Jalisco, Mexico. The organization invited the Central American isthmus to this competition, scheduled for February 1-7, 2026.
Originally, the Caribbean Series was to be held in Venezuela, a country that had invited Panama. However, the other three member countries of the Professional Baseball Confederation of the Caribbean (CBPC) (Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic) declined to play in the South American nation due to external circumstances beyond their control.
By regulation, the host country of the Caribbean Series is the one that issues the invitations. Therefore, the new host (Mexico) was responsible for sending the invitation, which was extended to Panama.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Panama is financially capable of participating in this tournament, considering its commitment to hosting the Americas Series, scheduled for January 24-30, 2026.
