Panama, represented by the Federales de Chiriquí, was officially eliminated from the Caribbean Series after falling 8-3 to Puerto Rico in the first game of the doubleheader at this tournament being held in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Panama was leading 2-0 until the top of the sixth inning, when the Boricuas reacted with four runs to take the lead and never relinquish it. With this result, Panama says goodbye to the Caribbean Series with a 0-4 record.
