Suárez & Pozo Crowned National Frontenis Champions

The duo of Arnulfo Suárez and Henry Pozo won the National Frontenis Circuit final undefeated. They were selected to represent Panama at the Panama Open 8. The competition also determined other finalists and set the stage for an increased number of tournaments in the upcoming season.

The duo of Arnulfo Suárez and Henry Pozo won the final of the first division of the qualifying round for the National Frontenis Circuit, remaining undefeated. They defeated Oscar Gómez and Pedro Rueda with a final score of 30 to 13.

During a weekend of intense activity, centered at the Spanish Society of Charity, the event served as a selection process for the national team that will represent Panamanian delegation at the upcoming international Panama Open 8, to be held from March 23 to 28.

The national competition aimed to select the best rackets across all racquet sports to compete in the "Panama Open" tournament, with delegations from Puerto Rico, Cuba, the United States, Mexico, Panama, and others participating.

Third place in the category was secured by the team of Carlos Ortega/Ernesto Aleman, who narrowly defeated Jorge Solis and his son with a close score of 30 to 29.

Following the group stage, the semifinals were held. Suárez & Pozo defeated Tomás Abraham and his son 30 to 16; Ortega & Aleman fell to Gómez & Rueda 30 to 25; The Solis pair overcame Ernesto Aleman & Demetrio Serracin 30 to 28.

The sporting event seeks to encourage and motivate new athletes to compete in the discipline. According to the organizers, competitions will be held in Open, A, B, and C mixed categories, as well as the men's master division.

For the current season, an increase in the number of tournaments registered and endorsed by the National Organization of Frontenis of Panama is expected, which will award points in the national ranking based on the tournament category and the number of participants in each championship.
