The Los Angeles Dodgers team won their eighth championship title in history, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in the final of the Major League Baseball (MLB) playoff.
The Dodgers secured victory with a score of 4-2 in a best-of-seven series. The deciding game, which took place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, concluded with a score of 3-1 in favor of the Los Angeles team. The entire season was overshadowed by the COVID-19 pandemic, but games were still able to be played.
"This is hard to describe in words. We spent a lot of time, striving to reach this goal," noted one of the players. Significant financial contributions made by the organization played an important role in the Dodgers' victory.
This championship win marks the first for the LA Dodgers since 1988. Previously, the team lost in the finals in 2017 and 2018.
