In the midst of the December hustle, when many are thinking about dinners and gifts, firefighters from Arraiján went out to save lives, even the smallest ones. A fire registered in the 7 de Septiembre community set off the alarms, but also left a story that touched hearts. The emergency call alerted the firefighters to a fire in a small shed, caused by a stove, that threatened to spread to nearby homes. The units acted immediately, controlling the fire before it could escalate. But amidst the smoke and hot sheets, the most sensitive moment of the operation arrived: three kittens were trapped behind some zinc sheets, with no way out and in danger. Without hesitation, the firefighters went all the way in, managing to rescue the trio of felines, safe and sound. The Christmas rescue ended in hugs and tears. The kittens were handed over to their owner, who could not hide her gratitude for a job that went beyond the call of duty. They not only saved a house, they saved a family… and three furry lives. The Arraiján Fire Corps took the opportunity to make an appeal to the public: to take extra safety measures when using stoves and heat sources, especially during these dates, when any carelessness can end in tragedy. This Christmas, heroes don't just put out fires… they also rescue hope.
