Panama. The main suspect in the double murder of a police officer and a civilian in Caimitillo, Chilibre, which occurred on Friday, has been apprehended by the authorities and will be presented before a judge in the coming hours. As confirmed by the National Police, the apprehension was achieved through intense operations carried out by the entity and the Public Ministry, which led them to the Veranillo sector in San Miguelito, where they found him hidden inside a residence. While the authorities continue the search for the other suspect, who has already been identified and is believed to be a foreigner of Colombian nationality, the apprehended individual will be presented today or tomorrow before a guarantee judge for the judicial process of the case against him. On Friday, two individuals on a motorcycle arrived at the location where a state vehicle belonging to the Caimitillo Community Board was parked, in front of the María La Torre School, in Calzada Larga. One of the sicarios dismounted from the motorcycle and shot at him; then both fled the scene. After the crime, the police set up a checkpoint in front of the Caimitillo police station. The motorcycle driver made a brief stop and his companion shot the officer, then continued their escape. It is expected that the National Police will inform when and where the posthumous burial of the captain will take place. Inside the car was Ángel David Rodríguez, 25, who was under a community service measure for a crime related to drugs. When the motorcycle approached, Lieutenant José Izasa Melo, 48, signaled for them to stop.
