A 46-year-old man was shot and killed in Cativá, Colón province, in what authorities are investigating as a homicide. This incident highlights the ongoing violence in the region, which has seen over 100 homicides this year alone.


Man Fatally Shot in Panama Amid Rising Violence

Antonio Lindo Villaverde, 46, was killed on Sunday afternoon in a violent incident on calle sexta, 11 de octubre, in the Cativá district, Colón province. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds from the assailants, which is the subject of a judicial investigation. Following the attack, the man was taken to the emergency room of Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The National Police arrived at the scene of the crime, as well as at the emergency room, to gather information, collect evidence, and clarify this homicide. So far this year, more than 100 people have lost their lives in Colón province due to the violence on its streets and in some communities that have become violent over the years.
