Units of the 3rd Brigade Panama Este, GRIM and Antinarcotics of SENAFRONT, dismantled an illegal mining camp in the sector of Superación Campesina, district of Chepo, with respective coordination with the Environmental Prosecutor's Office. During the operation, five gold pans, picks, hoes, pots and other implements used in said illicit activity were seized. It should be noted that in recent weeks the National Border Service has dealt major blows to crime in the Chepo sector, seizing illicit substances embedded in wooden forest tusks; in the same way, it captured three backpackers and thwarted a robbery for more than 25 thousand dollars….the responsible parties were apprehended and placed at the disposal of the competent authority.
