A suspicious taxi operation in Chepo resulted in three apprehensions and the seizure of nine packages of suspected cocaine. The discovery was made in Margarita and Cañita during coordinated security actions in the area. In the Margarita sector of Chepo, units from the National Border Service, along with the National Police, detected a taxi in a suspicious attitude. Upon proceeding with the verification, they found two rectangular packages of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle. No individuals were apprehended in this case. The citizens, evidence, and the vehicle were handed over to the competent authorities for the corresponding procedures. The three occupants were immediately apprehended, and the car was retained as part of the investigation. The operation was carried out under the 'Plan Firmeza' and 'Operation Steel Shield' phase 2, which maintains patrols and controls at various points in the district. In a second incident, in the Cañita sector, the units found an abandoned backpack containing seven additional packages of a suspected illicit substance, also preliminarily identified as cocaine.
