In the Chilibre area, about 11 packages with counterfeit 'Martinelli' coins were discovered, hidden in cardboard boxes. This is already the third batch of counterfeit coins that has been found in this area.
According to the representative of the police, the discovery occurred as a result of an operation carried out in response to information about the production and distribution of counterfeit money. The counterfeit coins were exact replicas of real coins in 1 balboa, depicting ex-president Ricardo Martinelli.
One of the boxes in which the coins were stored contained about ten, and subsequent agencies have already approached the establishment of the source of origin of these counterfeit coins.
"We are seriously committed to combating the production of counterfeit money, and this latest discovery confirms our readiness to act in this direction," stated the police representative.
Currently, there is no information on the detained individuals in connection with this event, and the investigation continues.
