The IDAAN confirmed that the Chilibre plant will be shut down from 6:00 a.m. to midnight while work is carried out to improve the network. IDAAN Director Rutilio Villarreal explained that the shutdown will be used to connect the Estey ring and make important adjustments to water distribution. Among the tasks, they will change large valves in sectors such as El Chorrillo and Pedregal, and they will review the electrical system that supplies the plant. Villarreal asked people to fill tanks and cisterns so as not to run out of water and to pay attention to official announcements. This Saturday, neighbors in several neighborhoods will be left without potable water for almost the entire day. The work could extend until Sunday, so the recommendation is to prepare in advance. These tasks are being carried out in coordination with CONADES and the Canal Authority, which will also take advantage of the shutdown to adjust their system in the lake.
