What could have been a common robbery ended up being a scene worthy of a comedy. A woman in Chiriquí recounted that while in her car, she began to blow her nose with a tissue due to a bad cold. At that same moment, her cell phone slipped and fell to the floor of the vehicle, near the pedals. According to her explanation, she leaned down to look for the phone without letting go of the tissue, and to maneuver better, she stuck her hand out the window with the still-damp tissue clinging to her fingers. It was in that awkward and distracted position that a cyclist appeared who believed he saw the perfect opportunity. The man approached at full speed, stretched out his hand, snatched what he thought was the cell phone, and continued his escape pedaling away. However, minutes later, the victim realized the magnitude of the mistake: the thief did not take the phone, he took the tissue full of mucus. The woman admitted that she was first in shock, but then she could not contain her laughter. The case quickly went viral due to the unusual twist of events, becoming one of the most ironic, unhygienic, and talked-about robberies of the day.
