An occupational accident occurred yesterday afternoon at Merca Chitré in the province of Herrera, leaving a young man with serious injuries.

According to the preliminary report and testimonies from people at the scene, the worker was apparently performing electrical tasks on the roof of the building located on Carmelo Spadafora Avenue in Chitré when one of the panels broke, causing him to fall.

As a result of the impact, the young man suffered a severe wound on one of his arms, as well as bruises on other parts of his body. Paramedics and rescuers from the Panama Fire Department arrived at the scene and provided first aid.

Subsequently, he was transferred in an ambulance from the Unified Emergency Management System 911 (SUME 911) to a medical center to receive specialized care.
