The Minister of Public Works, José Luis Andrade, stated that the Guarumal stretch in Colón on the Transistmica highway is beginning to return to normal and could be fully open by March. Andrade spoke on 'Cara a Cara' and explained that the work is proceeding as planned. The idea is for all traffic to return to the road without restrictions. This is a relief for drivers and transporters who use this road daily to travel from Panama to Colón. Meanwhile, work continues, with machinery and personnel on every section. With the opening, travel times will be shorter and mobility in the area will improve significantly. The MOP assures that the rehabilitation not only aims to open the road but also wants it to be safer and more durable.
