On the evening of Sunday, November 30th, a parade to close the Homeland Month was held on Bolívar Avenue in the city of Colón. The event was organized by the Panamanian Federation of Independent Bands (FEPABI) and the government of Colón. Colonians came to Bolívar Avenue to enjoy the independent bands, which are the main attraction people look forward to during civic parades in the Homeland Month. Roxana Robinson, with her family on 7th Street, Bolívar Avenue, said that this event marked the closure of the Homeland Month and the welcome to the Christmas month. Likewise, 42-year-old Roman Lewis pointed out that he enjoyed each of the performances by the independent bands, which recalled the patriotic dates. Attendees positioned themselves all along Bolívar Avenue to enjoy the musical performances that made them dance to the rhythm of their patriotic-themed interpretations.
