During a regular session of the Colón District Municipal Council, Roberto Edwards, president of the 'Allegory 2026' Carnival, along with the Reign Commission, attended to formally clarify the status of the organization that leads one of the province's most important festivals.

The central purpose of the presentation was to establish that the 'Allegory 2026' Carnival Committee is the only one officially sworn in to organize the Colón carnivals. Edwards based this statement on resolution 1 issued by the governorship. A document that, as he explained, grants his board a three-year mandate for the planning and execution of the festivities.

Following the legal clarification, the event took on a festive character with the presentation of each of the candidates aspiring to wear the crown of the Colón Carnival 2026. Roberto Edwards, on behalf of the entire carnival board, extended a formal invitation to all council members and the Colón community for the central act of electing the new sovereign.

The selection of the Carnival Queen 2026 will take place on Saturday, January 17, at the Colón Art and Culture Center.

The Colón community now awaits with anticipation the gala of next Saturday, where not only will the new representative figure of the festival be chosen, but it will also give the official starting signal for the preparations for the 'Allegory 2026' Carnival, which promises to celebrate the identity and culture of Colón with pride.
