Border Agent Injured in Shooting in Colón

Panama - A National Border Service (Senafront) agent was injured by glass shards on Friday evening after his vehicle was shot at by a gunman on the outskirts of the city of Colón. The incident occurred on the bridge that divides the Sabanitas and Puerto Pilón districts. Two bullets hit the edge of the driver's window and others hit one of the front tires of the vehicle. Following the attack, the injured agent was transported to the emergency room of the Policlinica Don Laurencio Jaén Ocaña, located in the Sabanitas district, for medical attention. National Police agents arrived at the scene of the violence and also went to the policlinic to gather more information about the incident. Search operations were launched in the entire perimeter to try to find the gunman.
