Vice Minister of Education Roberto Sevillano reported during a visit to the province of Colón that the maintenance of educational centers is carried out continuously throughout the country. Roof repairs, painting, cleaning, and basic repairs are being intensified during the summer season. He noted that 56 schools are participating in the summer program, 20 centers receive continuous maintenance, and 32 institutions are located in Colón, ensuring suitable conditions before the start of the 2026 school year. In Colón, roof replacements are being done in a classroom and the cafeteria of La Represa School, as well as cleaning and painting of metal areas. The vice minister stated that there is inter-institutional coordination with entities such as INADE, DGI, IFARHU, Fire Department, SINAPROC, and the National Police, the latter of which has reinforced personnel in Colón to expand coverage. He also mentioned that all areas are being attended to, including hard-to-reach areas and coastal zones, with special vigilance for adverse weather conditions. Academically, he announced the training of approximately 3,500 teachers, linked to the curriculum redesign and technology training, as part of the comprehensive strengthening of the education system.
