
Under the coordination of the Ministry of Culture, the first meeting of the board of directors of the Office of the Historic Center of the city of Colón (Ochco) took place. This instance was created through Executive Decree No.8 of September 2024 with the aim of laying the foundations for a project aimed at the preservation and enhancement of the historical heritage of the city.
During the meeting, the general guidelines and strategies to be followed for the protection and promotion of the Historic Center of Colón were discussed. The importance of preserving the architectural and historical wealth of the area was highlighted, as well as fostering cultural tourism and sustainable development in the region.
The Minister of Culture emphasized the relevance of this initiative for the cultural and tourist enrichment of the city of Colón, as well as for boosting the local economy and improving the quality of life of its residents. It is expected that the implementation of Ochco will significantly contribute to the revitalization of the Historic Center and the strengthening of the cultural identity of the region.
