Julio Hernández, governor of the Colón province, held a meeting with the tourism sector and the technical committee to address situations in tourism that need to be regulated. During the meeting, the need to regulate the disorder maintained by some establishments, especially those operating with excessively high music levels, was discussed. In addition to invaded passageways, affecting mobility and the visitor experience in tourist areas. The urgency of establishing controls and guidelines for the operation of boats, which currently depart in a disorderly and unregulated manner in Costa Arriba, particularly in the La Guaira area and adjacent sectors, was also discussed. Authorities and tourism sector representatives agreed to advance in coordinated measures that allow for better regulation, guarantee the safety of visitors, and strengthen the tourist image of this important area of Colón. Participating in the meeting were representatives of boat cooperatives, hotel and business owners, Maritime Authority, Ministry of Environment, National Aeronaval Service, Tourism Authority, IPACOOP, Chamber of Tourism, municipality of Portobelo and Santa Isabel, among others. One of the tourist attractions is the Isla Grande district, famous for its beaches, hotels, food, and places to visit.
