The incident occurred on the afternoon of December 3 in the city of Colón, where a 33-year-old man, Enrique Sánchez Philips, was shot and killed. Initial reports indicate that the victim arrived at a multifamily building on 3rd and 4th streets, Avenida Herrera, as a taxi passenger, before fleeing the crime scene. The man, who had been shot, was urgently transported to Dr. Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:00 p.m. due to gunshot wounds. The crime scene was completely cordoned off with yellow tape to preserve the evidence. This marks the second violent death in Colón this December, launching an investigation into the second murder of the month. To date, over 100 people have died as a result of violence in Colón and its communities this year.
