The company Cobre Panamá, in conjunction with the Colón district mayor's office, this Thursday delivered some 300 school backpacks to children in the Colón district. This joint aid is direct support for students in Colón, delivering backpacks with school supplies at educational centers such as Villa Alondra, Villa Santa Cruz, and in the city center of Colón. The initiative is part of its social management program, focused on supporting education as a key tool for the development of children and their communities. This delivery aims to support parents and, consequently, students with limited resources to replenish their school supplies at the start of the school year. This type of contribution adds to other actions that the company has maintained in the territory, including generating job opportunities for Colón residents who aspire to a job position. The mayor of Colón, Diógenes Galván, took the opportunity to request job opportunities for Colón residents in the mining activity. The residents of Colón have requested that a permanent office of the mining company be located so that they have access to information and can submit their resumes for the positions generated in the mining activity, which includes its reactivation to generate income for their families.
