A citizen was surprised at the beginning of this week when he was allegedly attempting to steal them from the facilities of the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), in the province of Colón. During the vehicle inspection, high-voltage copper cables were found, so the driver was arrested and transported by Canal Police units to the agency's security headquarters located in the community of Margarita, in the corregimiento of Cristóbal, on the outskirts of the city of Colón. Technical personnel from the Panama Canal Authority also went to the site, who verified the situation and reported that they will file the corresponding complaint with the competent authorities. The incident was recorded after an alert call that mobilized the Canal Police to the location. The detainee faces charges for the alleged crime of theft against the property of the State, specifically against the ACP. Upon arrival, agents located a white pickup truck belonging to a private company. High-voltage copper cables will form part of the evidence in a theft investigation against a 39-year-old man.
