Panama Aims for Victory in Vuelta a Chiriquí

Panama seeks to extend its dominance in the Vuelta Internacional a Chiriquí de Ciclismo, which kicks off today, Friday, in its 45th edition with a stage heading east in the province. The last two editions of the Vuelta Internacional a Chiriquí were dominated by nationals Franklin Archibold and Bolívar Gabriel Espinosa, part of the nine awards won by local cyclists in this event. Today's stage will cover 140.8 kilometers, starting from the city of David, reaching the entrance of San Félix, and returning to the corregimiento of Las Lomas. For the 2025 edition, the Vuelta Internacional a Chiriquí will have a total of 777.90 kilometers divided into eight stages, beginning on November 21 with a route heading east in this magical province. Teams from Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Cuba, and Panama will seek glory, which will arrive on November 28 when the curtain falls on the richest event in Panamanian cycling history. One of the innovations this year is the inclusion of the Junior category, providing young talents with a platform for growth and competitive experience. With this initiative, the Panamanian Cycling Federation aims to strengthen the base of national cycling and prepare the new generation of riders to face international challenges. Yesterday, at the Municipal Palace of David, the presentation of the 19 teams, totaling 135 cyclists, took place.
