Senacyt launches HELENA and SENAPASS, new digital platforms to modernize science and technology in Panama.
The new tools, integrated into the renewed 3.0 website, aim to reduce times, automate processes, and centralize information for researchers, students, and strategic partners.
The main objective is to incorporate digital systems to meet the needs of Panama's science, technology, and innovation (STI) ecosystem, facilitating access to services and calls, ensuring transparency, automating processes, and optimizing the relationship between the State and citizens.
Digital Renewal and User Experience The new 3.0 version of the Senacyt website is characterized by being a flexible, adaptive, and user-centered platform, designed to facilitate access to information, procedures, and online services.
This program has strategic partnerships with the OEI, Mexico's SECIHTI, and Colombia's OCyT.
The key tools are HELENA, SENAPASS, and the National Program of Evaluators, all integrated into the institution's new 3.0 website (www.senacyt.gob.pa).
Dr. Eduardo Ortega Barría, national secretary of Senacyt, highlighted that these platforms are aligned with the goal of institutional modernization.
Evaluations will be carried out digitally and securely through the HELENA platform, ensuring impartiality, traceability, and confidentiality of the information.
SENAPASS: Commitment Management SENAPASS is a mechanism implemented to manage beneficiaries who are in a state of "not in good standing" with Senacyt.
The portal prioritizes a seamless experience from any device (computers, tablets, and mobiles).
Among the new portal features are: the ability to share content directly on social networks with a single click; the integration of a 24/7 artificial intelligence chatbot for fast and accurate searches; and Senacyt's magazine IMAGiNA presented in a more dynamic and interactive digital format.
Calls and Beneficiaries Management HELENA: STI Management Simplification HELENA (Online Tool for the Evaluation of STI Activities) is Senacyt's new centralized platform to simplify and modernize the management of public calls and project follow-up.
This system will interoperate with HELENA, consolidating information and facilitating access, traceability, and control of cases, reinforcing the prohibition of participation in calls for those who are not solvent.
National Program of Evaluators The institution is launching the National Program of Evaluators for the first time, an instrument designed to ensure the evaluation of STI projects through a fair, solid, and modern system that supports evidence-based and merit-based decision-making.
