Over a thousand graduates in Panama received certifications from the 'Capacítate en tu Barrio' job training program. The initiative, aimed at improving skills for youth and adults, is supported by state institutions and shows significant success.

'Capacítate en tu Barrio' Program Certifies Over a Thousand Graduates The 'Capacítate en tu Barrio' program is designed to improve the job skills and economic opportunities of at-risk youth and adults. This successful initiative is organized by the National Directorate for the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency (Dipred) of the Ministry of Government, with the fundamental support of the National Institute for Professional Training and Human Development (Inadeh). The 'Capacítate en tu Barrio' program focuses on at-risk youth and adults, aiming to strengthen their job skills and increase their economic opportunities. Additionally, the program has covered around 20 districts in 5 different provinces, with plans to multiply this effort by 2026.

The General Director of Inadeh, Yajaira Pittí, highlighted that training becomes a true tool for social transformation when it removes barriers and adapts to people's realities, which is the essence of 'Capacítate en tu Barrio'.

Stories of Transformation and Key Alliances Yrayda Araúz, on behalf of the graduates, shared her testimony, stating to be 'a great example that it is possible'. Among the training areas offered are electricity, plumbing, beauty, air conditioning maintenance, and eyebrow and eyelash design.

Official Recognition and Program Projection The graduation ceremony was attended by the First Lady of the Republic, Maricel Cohen de Mulino, as a special guest. The success of the program has also been possible thanks to the collaboration of allies such as Deputies of the Republic, district representatives, and community leaders.

'Inspiring Stories' During the event, an emotional video titled 'Inspiring Stories' was shown, which featured the testimonials of several program participants.

The director of Dipred, Azihra Valdés, detailed that in its first year, the program has been a success, certifying almost 80% of the more than one thousand participants. Cohen de Mulino expressed her pride in the joint work of Dipred and Inadeh, and highlighted the high number of women graduates, emphasizing the need to have 'a lot of strength to move forward' and the importance of motivation for preparation. In turn, the Vice Minister of Government, Juan Francisco Borrell, affirmed that this initiative is a joint effort that ratifies the commitment to human development, inclusion, and the construction of safer communities.
