Panamá Innova 2025 Announces Winners and Boosts National Scientific Talent

Panama City, Panama. - The National Secretariat for Science, Technology, and Innovation (Senacyt) held the #PanamáInnova event, a fundamental platform for the entrepreneurship ecosystem, revealing the results of the Panamá Innova 2025 Public Call.

The call attracted a total of 369 proposals, of which 162 passed the expert evaluation phase. The award aims to highlight companies that transform science into competitive market solutions. For this edition, two main categories are maintained: Business Innovation, for for-profit legal entities with sustainable, technology-based solutions, and Entrepreneur of the Year, a recognition for female leadership that drives innovations with measurable social and economic impact.

During the event, the official launch of the National Award for Business Innovation 2025 was also held, reaffirming the State's commitment to scientific and technological development.

According to authorities, the selection process will continue to focus on projects that enhance the sustainability and growth of Panama's productive sector.

Technological solutions in health, energy, and agribusiness that seek to transform the country's economic competitiveness were highlighted during the event.

Gladys Bernett, Director of Business Innovation at Senacyt, emphasized that the quality of the participants demonstrates the existence of entrepreneurial talent capable of integrating science to solve real problems and generate high-value jobs.

Dr. Eduardo Ortega Barría, National Secretary of Senacyt, along with Juan Arias, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), presented the 19th edition of this award. Finally, 50 projects were prioritized, and 42 were selected to receive support for their execution.

The selected projects cover eight critical areas: agribusiness and biotechnology, health, digitalization, energy and environment, industrial engineering, logistics, tourism, and education.
