The Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), through the Las Mañanitas regional team, is executing the construction of a housing improvement for Laura Rodríguez and her family in the Las Paredes area of the 24 de Diciembre district. This initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to reduce the housing deficit and improve sanitary conditions for families in critical situations. The structure uses Covintec panel walls, a zinc roof with gutters, French windows, a wooden door, and a cement floor. Additionally, the project includes the conditioning of a hygienic bathroom and the installation of a bathtub for washing. Laura Rodríguez, 46, currently lives with her three children and a newborn grandson in crowded conditions in her mother's home. After her husband's death and due to a lack of financial resources, she requested institutional support to build an annex that would allow her to have her own adequate space. This process is fundamental for land legalization, allowing more Panamanian families to access legal security over their properties and to be eligible for future state housing development programs.
