BID Group Launches Initiatives to Modernize Logistics and Digital Talent in Central America

The Inter-American Development Bank (BID) Group is promoting regional integration through its Cargo Pass and Talent Up programs. Under the 'America in the Center' program, these new tools aim to generate economic benefits exceeding US$700 million annually and strengthen youth development through over 60,000 technology scholarships. The organization's president, Ilan Goldfajn, highlighted in the third person that this project is fundamental for closing the gap between technological investment and the actual capabilities of the workforce, enabling youth to access more productive jobs. During 2025, the 'America in the Center' program coordinated operations totaling US$2.2 billion. The 39th Meeting of Governors reaffirmed the BID Group's vision to act as a catalyst for regional resilience and productivity, prioritizing concrete solutions to cross-border challenges and the modernization of logistics services in the isthmus. This meeting, which preceded the organization's Annual Assembly in Paraguay, brought together ministers of finance, economy, and private sector leaders to define sustainable growth strategies under the regional 'America in the Center' program, focused on economic integration and investment in human capital. Logistics innovation with Cargo Pass As a result of the meeting, the BID Group announced the launch of Cargo Pass, a regional program aimed at modernizing logistics management in the Pacific Corridor. With projected investments of US$130 million, the program is expected to generate economic benefits for the region exceeding US$700 million annually. Capacity building with Talent Up Simultaneously, the institution presented Talent Up, an initiative developed in strategic partnership with Google. This program begins with the offering of over 60,000 scholarships focused on developing skills in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data analysis.
