Switzerland debuts with country pavilion at Expocomer 2026 to strengthen trade ties with Panama. Panama, March 7, 2026. Switzerland will participate for the first time with a national pavilion at Expocomer, one of the most important trade fairs in the region, to be held from March 10-12 at the Panama Convention Center in Amador. The Switzerland Pavilion brings together nine companies and institutions representing various strategic sectors such as innovation, technology, industry, education, and services, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of the Swiss business ecosystem with a presence in Panama. This participation is made possible through an alliance between the Swiss-Panamanian Chamber of Commerce (CCSP), the Embassy of Switzerland in Panama, and Switzerland Global Enterprise, along with the nine participating companies and institutions, with the aim of strengthening trade ties, promoting investment opportunities, and highlighting the contribution of Swiss companies to the country's and region's economic development. Global companies and strategic sectors Among the participating companies are global giants such as ABB and Nestlé, which will have their own stands within the Switzerland Pavilion. They will be accompanied by Resansil, organizations that support this initiative with their brand presence in the pavilion. Claudio Villalobos, regional leader of ABB Motion in Panama and the Caribbean and a member of the Executive Committee of the Swiss-Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the role of technology and energy efficiency in industrial transformation. «Sustainability in industry is not just a discourse: it translates into efficiency, operational continuity, and smart investment decisions. ABB drives solutions that help our customers reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions while increasing productivity and reliability. ABB is committed to supporting companies and institutions on their decarbonization journey, from electrical infrastructure to automation and high-efficiency motors, and Panama is key to scaling that impact throughout Central America and the Caribbean,» stated Villalobos. Strengthening economic relations Rodrigo Romera, General Manager of Nestlé Panama, emphasized the importance of venues like Expocomer for strengthening economic relations between Panama and Switzerland. «Switzerland's participation in Expocomer reflects the strength of trade ties between the two countries and the role Panama plays as a strategic platform for trade and investment in the region. For Nestlé, with its long-standing presence in the country, this type of initiative allows us to continue strengthening collaboration with the business sector and contribute to sustainable development and value generation in the communities where we operate,» indicated Romera. During the three-day fair, the Switzerland Pavilion will allow visitors, businesspeople, and international delegations to firsthand discover solutions, products, and services developed by Swiss companies in areas such as technology, industry, sustainability, education, and specialized services. «Switzerland has world-leading companies in key areas such as infrastructure, water management, and technology. Through the Swiss-Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, we seek to continue strengthening business ties between both countries and generating new opportunities for Swiss companies to contribute their expertise to strategic projects in Panama, in a context of open economic cooperation and mutual trust,» stated Stefan Zosso, president of the Swiss-Panamanian Chamber of Commerce. Location and schedules The Switzerland Pavilion will be located at booth 3076 of the Panama Convention Center, Amador, where visitors can interact with the participating companies and learn about their proposals in innovation, technology, education, industry, and services.
