National Business Innovation Award in Panama

Panama's Senacyt and CCIAP held an annual innovation contest, highlighting projects in AI, medicine, and female leadership. The winner was Kilowattia with its energy management project.


National Business Innovation Award in Panama

The National Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Senacyt) and the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) held the nineteenth edition of the National Business Innovation Award 2025. The total prize pool exceeded 70,000 balboas. The awards recognized projects in artificial intelligence, precision medicine, and female leadership.

In the 'Businesswoman of the Year' category, Fulvia Bósquez de Vargas, founder of the Panadería Santa Librada in Veraguas and a key figure in the Center for Competitiveness of the Central Provinces, was honored. Second and third places in the business category were awarded to ICM LAB, S.A. for developing the first national platform for precision genetic diagnostics, and ARPIA Intelligence, Inc. for its AI governance system for autonomous processes.

First place went to Kilowattia, S.A. with its 'Energy Efficiency 4.0' project. This project uses artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to manage electricity consumption in real-time, achieving savings of up to 30%. The first-place winner received B/.30,000.00, while the second and third-place winners received B/.20,000.00 and B/.10,000.00, respectively.
